Buku-Music-Art-PRoject-2013-New-orleans

It’s crazy to think that in less than 2 months I will be starting off the music festival season. I am more than grateful that our first big one will be BUKU Music & Arts Festival. Set in New Orleans, this festival is on it’s second run through, and just from the looks of the line up we already knew that this was a festival we could not miss. I mean, it has everything. Multiple stages, all with their very own group of artists that are sure to be exactly what the crowd is looking for. An amazing group of individuals running it, and the people… Well, the people are coming from all over to start their season off right. I’m not even exaggerating. Some of my best friends, who are away for the semester in Europe are flying back just because they know how rad it’s going to be. If things like that are happening, then that’s just an amazing omen. The people I associate myself with, DO NOT waste their time on festivals that won’t be unforgettable. That’s just the way it is.

Now all that being said, I think that it is HIGH time get to know some of the amazing talent that will be attending BUKU. Think of it like a brain exercise, this way, when YOU HEAR the stuff live, your mind will not explode. That thing is kind of important. Ya Dig?

Ok so First Here Is A Short Recap Video From BUKU 2012

Alright so I am going to do my best to let you know about some artists that YOU SHOULD not miss. If you know about them already, cool. If not, then your in for a treat! All I really know for sure is that I will not be missing one of the artists mentioned below. Alright, let’s do this!

STS9

Sound Tribe Sector Nine is probably the most talented live electronic act around at the moment. Their heady beats make for an incredibly intoxicating vibe and are something only heard of in myth and legend. They are playing 2 separate sets at BUKU, and for good reason. Their explosive and unpredictable sound spans so far through the genres that their is just no way that they could ever tell their story to you in just one sitting. Do not miss either of them.

STS9 – March (Live) 10.31.12

Flux Pavilion

Flux will be putting out a new album at the end of January. I’ve been able to HEAR a few of the tracks, and all of them are amazing. It is because of this that it is so important not to miss this one. He is by far one of the best UK Bass/Dubstep artists doing their thing right now. With all the new tracks he is going to have in his arsenal, I’m sure that his set is going to be nothing short of an earthquake of musical proportions.

Flux Pavilion – Blow The Roof

Flux Pavilion – OneTwoThree (Make Your Body Wanna)

Big Gigantic

Big G BUKU 2012

Ok, so I REALLY hope that every single one of you already knows about BIG G. But just in case you don’t, here are some tracks they have been putting out. These two gentleman from Colorado, are amazing, and are probably one of the biggest musical influence in my life.

I swear if any of you read this, and still miss their set. I hope your not superstitious, because that’s gonna be like 10 years bad luck.

Dillon Francis

dillon6-500x333

Ok, so Dillon Francis is my favorite all around Dance music artist. His set will include everything from Dubstep to Disco, with a bunch of Moombahton and Trap sprinkled into that bitch like a delicious multi-flavored cupcake, or cake if you’re a fattie. I have never seen girls get down harder then at a Dillon Francis festival set. I know he’s going to throw the f**k down for BUKU for sure. Don’t make me tell you again.

Dada Life – So Young So High (Dillon Francis Remix)

Dillon Francis – Masta Blasta (THE REBIRTH)

RAC

I will be the first to admit that I have never gotten a chance to see RAC live, so I’m actually not totally sure what we’re in store for. All I can tell you is that I have been listening to this act constantly for over a year now. This sound that they have is just, well, something new, different, and refreshing. I seriously cannot wait to see them live.

RAC ft. Liz Anjos – Climbing Up The Walls (Radiohead Cover)

Flosstradamus

Ok here is another one that I really feel like I should not have to explain to you. But just in case, this duo from the Chicago area have been effortlessly climbing through the Trap scene since the beginning of last year. For really good reason too. Your gonna hate yourself if you miss this set. Trust me.

B⚠NNED 2

Break Science

Ok, this is the Brooklyn based live electronic act that has been on the tip of everybody’s tongue for about two years now. Adam Deich, is a straight up magician on the drums and the sound coming from the two of these dudes will take over any crowd, anywhere, anytime. You can quote me on that.

Electric Touch – Break Science & Michal Menert

Brown & Gammon

Coming from the same record label as Flux. Brown & Gammon were a totally pleasant surprise for me when I saw them on the lineup. I have never seen them live, but I have always enjoyed their tunes. I have no idea what I am in store for with their set, but I think it’s safe to say that it’s going to be dirty, dirty, dirty UK bass for a straight hour or so. I’m f**king pumped.

Brown & Gammon – Disco Music

Kill The Noise – Dying feat Emily Hudson (Brown & Gammon Remix – OWSLA)

Alright, so that list barely even grazes the surface of the artists that will be at BUKU Music & Arts Festival. That’s no exaggeration. So just do yourself a HUGE favor, get your friends together, tell them about this festival, and get your beautiful faces to N’awlins on the 8th and the 9th of March. It’s the perfect start to your healthy and balanced festival season.
